  • Etro Spring/Summer 2010 Men Cloth Collection

Posted on June 29th, 2009 Fashionlife No comments

What this collection bring to us is absolutely eye-fresh. I’m not sure if you are open enough yo accept this bold design. Some of my friends said “It’s hard to get excited about Etro, because you pretty much know what you’re going to see in every collection: crazy patterns, ridiculous colors, etc.”

See all the clothes can be called “vibrant”. The design chose extreme colours as the theme of Etro’s spring/summer collection for next year, dominated by their favourite design element: print. With obvious consideration for the summer season, Etro’s pieces feature loud, brash colour tones being incorporated into their array of outerwear and accessories, with a sprinkling of impeccable elegance thrown in, and the prints include madras, flowers, and paisley. From salmon pinks to cornflower blues to paisley printed summer trench coats, these aren’t clothes for the shy and retiring. But in a city where fashion can take itself too seriously, Etro is all about pure enjoyment.

In addition to their taste for colour, the brand’s collection is also very open about detail, including bowties and multi-coloured handkerchiefs to the garments.Whatever you call it weird or creative, I believe it will be successful.

It contains the world’s leading luxury products, including prestigious champagnes, wines, cognacs and spirits, as well as luxury goods, luggage and leather goods, fragrance and cosmetics products, watches and jewelry. The Company is also engaged in the haute couture and fashion businesses. LVMH’s business consists of five principal business groups: Wines and Spirits, Fashion and Leather Goods, Perfumes and Cosmetics, Watches and Jewelry and Selective Retailing.

The LVMH group is partly owned by the Christian Dior group, and Bernard Arnault is Chairman and CEO of both companies. His successful integration of various famous aspirational brands into the group has inspired other luxury companies into doing the same. Thus Gucci (now part of the French conglomerate PPR) and Richemont have also created extended portfolios of luxury brands. The oldest of the LVMH brands is wine producer Chateau d’Yquem, which dates its origins back to 1593.

Now the Espace Louis Vuitton opened a fascinating new exhibition called “Silent Writings”, a striking encounter between ancient writings and contemporary artistic creativity. The exhibition runs until August 23, 2009. The inspiration comes from three mysterious tablets. They are “silent”, because their glyphic writing - in Rongo Rongo, the dialect of the aboriginal people of the Easter Islands, the Rapa Nui - has yet to be decoded.

Gucci has become synonymous with upper end quality. Here we will see the roughly delicate Horsebit Marina Chain Collection. It is said that the marina chain motif was inspired in the 1960s by the world of yachting, another favourite pastime of the Florentine clientele of Guccio Gucci.

The Marina Chain Collection was first introduced at the 09 Spring/Summer Gucci Women’s Cruise fashion show. Marina symbol adorns many Gucci accessories and jewelry. It is available in two sizes and a rich choice of materials: 18kt yellow gold version ($15,300), a stainless steel version ($1,195), and an 18kt and stainless steel version ($4,095) which is the combination of the two for a striking contrast between the reflections of the two metals. With its rounded links, this unmistakable signature punctuates the smooth bracelet, embracing the oval case and finishing with a clasp shaped like a leather belt buckle.

Gucci the most precious jewelry brand bring us again a distinctive and modern jewelry collection, the new Marina Chain collection fully illustrates Frida Giannini’s unique vision for reinventing classic Gucci luxury. We are dreaming about the boom of jewelry markets.

  • Enzo Ferrari

Posted on May 24th, 2009 Fashionlife No comments

When Enzo Ferrari created his company Scuderia Ferrari in Italy in 1929 his intentions was to sponsor amateur race car drivers and invent racing cars, and it would take more than 15 years before Ferrari began to create their own road cars in 1946. Ferrari is still devoted to the creation of racing cars and high performance sports cars and do not create other types of cars. Scuderia Ferrari is still the widespread name for Gestione Sportiva, the part of the Ferrari company that works with racing. Scuderia is an Italian word and means “stable”, but Scuderia Ferrari is sometime also translated as Team Ferrari.

To the present date, what young male adult hasn’t dreamed of one day owning a Ferrari? What would be even greater would be to race one of the modified ones in the Grand Prix.

Enzo Ferrari had the distinction of having two birthdays, something special for a youngster growing to brag about to all his friends. His real birthday was February 18, 1898. Because of bad weather, however, his father was unable to register his birth until two days later. Therefore his official birthday is February 20, 1898.

In 1969 Ferrari merged with Fiat as an equal partner and in 1988 Fiat became a majority partner.

However, throughout his life, Enzo was a colorful and often stubborn man. Supposedly Lamborghini, who at that time was in the tractor building industry, was a Ferrari customer. Lamborghini once complained about some problems with his Ferrari and Enzo told him to stay with tractors. It is interesting that a quote, which is attributed to Enzo, is “The client is not always right.” One wonders if that statement may have resulted from the confrontation with Lamborghini.

And Ferrari said of his own creation, “The Ferrari is a dream. People dream of owning this special vehicle and for most people it will remain a dream apart from for those lucky few.”

Valentino gained immense popularity by designing and manufacturing an exclusive range of custom made clothes, the Haute Couture and pret-a-porter fashion sequence.

Who can forget the incredible vintage Valentino that Julia Roberts wore in 2001 to accept her Oscar? It was Valentino again on Cate Blanchett in pale yellow and burgundy when she accepted her Oscar in 2005. Or anytime Renee Zelleweger showed up in Carolina Herrera - it was perfection each time. These women know the power they hold over fashion during the awards season, and the designers cater to them, know that millions of women become spellbound. It doesn’t matter if the piece comes from the latest collection or is vintage, the fashion has the authority to influence and create sales for designers everywhere. Valentino, with his innovative creations and talented designs created an evening wear range which soon reached the target audience and gained enormous success in the International fashion market. His sophisticated collection included dresses with stylish looks and bright colors which was a unique range. Valentino’s designs were comparatively traditional and reflected boldness in his creations, as compared to other famous brands. He keenly focused to set a new trend to combine beauty with elegance but however hard he tried, his designs still lacked the contemporary look. His designs were mostly meant for the women belonging to the luxurious society and not for any ordinary class, only a woman from the wealthiest class could afford to wear the Valentino range for women.

  • The history of Mercedes

Posted on May 16th, 2009 Fashionlife No comments

Mercedes-Benz has been very popular since a lot of people say that this manufacturer makes cars for quality and durability.

Back in the mid-1960s, there were two guys with a small garage in an old mill that were building engines for fast cars, really fast cars. When these two guys acted on their urge they spawned one of today’s largest suppliers of exclusive high-performance cars. The two guys were Hans-Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher, the founders of AMG Motorenbau und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH (AMG Engine Production and Development, Ltd.). Thankfully, the company name was later shortened to AMG.

More than a century ago, a man named Gottlieb Daimler was born. After a decade, Carl Benz followed. Both were born in Germany but they were 60 miles apart. At a very age, both boys were exposed to machines. Their approaches to building cars were quite different that is why it is doubtful that they met few years back when they started having the Mercedes Benz

According to historical information provided by Mercedes-AMG, the first private customer of the new company was a Mercedes owner from Kiel. With a humble beginning there is always a good story. Here’s the gist of the story going around today, which is said to be Friedrick Aufrecht’s story. Friedrick is the brother of AMG co-founder, Hans-Werner.

Versace was born in 1946 in Reggio, Calabria, in Southern Italy. Versace received his love of fashion and first lessons on dress-making from his mother.

The Versace group was founded in Milan, 1978, by Gianni Versace who was an Italian designer famous for provocative designs. In 1997, it was announced that his brother Santo Versace and Jorge Saud would be the new CEOs of the Versace company after Gianni’s death, and his sister Donatella Versace joined as the creative director. Standout designers are employed and working in teams. Each team is devoted to one specific line and all teams are under the close supervision of Donatella. Versace products are popular among the A-list celebrities, which is the best testimonial statements of the iconic fashion status of Versace.

Initially Versace trained as an architect, but soon he followed his mother into the fashion business. Versace worked for a number of top Italian fashion houses, but in 1978 with the help of his brother Santo he launched his own label.
