Coco Channel’s High-fashion Cell Phone
Posted on July 24th, 2009 No comments
Fashion phones, trendy little mobile devices that typically look better than they work, are increasingly common these days. Many are born when stolid handset makers decide to do something a little different, while others come from partnerships of electronics companies companies and fashion moguls. This latest one, though, comes straight from Coco Chanel (through designer Fred de GARILHE), and while it has perhaps a little too much branding on it for our tastes, it is quite a looker.
When closed the phone looks something like one side of a chromed Rubik’s Cube. It slides open to reveal a semi-transparent glass screen said to be driven by an “optical fiber” system. The sliding portion of the cover lights up and turns into a number pad, while the other buttons on the right turn into start and end call buttons. It’s perhaps not the most ergonomic looking thing, and it’s also just a prototype so it may never see the light of day beyond these concept sketches, but it’s an innovative take on phone design and we’re all for a little innovation in the handset market.

Fashion Nokia 7900
Posted on July 23rd, 2009 No comments
Nokia 7900 is still a fashion cell phone although it is sale in 2007.The best thing we can say about the Nokia 7900 is that it comes with 1GB of internal memory. We could lavish praise on the design, but in truth, it didn’t appeal to us. It wasn’t ugly, the phone is certainly challenging with its etched, angular “prism” design, as Nokia labels it. But it wasn’t any more attractive than other stylish phones on the market. The OLED screen was bright and colorful, but no better than we’d expect from one of Nokia’s N-series devices, which pack some of the best screens in the phone world. It was really the keypad that bothered us most, with its triangular keys. It seems like the formal design doesn’t enhance the function, so really what’s the point? Still, if this style is your thing, and you can get a good subsidy to avoid paying the fashion phone premium, go ahead, it’s just a standard Symbian S40 phone from Nokia. Nothing else to see here. Release: December 2007. Price: $550.
Pros: Interesting design, might appeal to some (though not especially to us). 1GB of internal memory. UMTS for fast (kind of) networking.

Prada Fall/Winter 2009 Advertising
Posted on July 21st, 2009 No comments
We are deeply impressed by the news designed women clothing from Fall/Winter 2009 advertising, luxurious big patent handbags, furry purses and those inspired heels are really different from its former styles, also this time, we can taste a heavy “feminism” in the finest advertisements. We heard some criticized words about the thigh high boots from Miuccia Prada’s Autumn (Fall)/Winter 2009/2010 collection: not necessarily out of a general desire to invest in them however, but more for the visual similarities they share with chaps.
Featuring models include Katlin Aas, Julia Hafstrom, Anna de Rijk, Kendra Spears, and Ymre Stiekema, the campaign was photograpyed by Steven Meisel.
Can the featured earthy hues and dark tones be accepted? We are in wonder. And we will got further information for our blog supporters.
