The third Spring/Summer 2010 Runway show is from Chanel’s Cruise Collection.I bet most of us still remember 2009’s strikingly beautiful runway shows I’ve ever seen, from the Venice Lido boardwalk setting to the 1920s throwback clothes. That show began at sunset, and I’ve never found myself wanting to attend any fashion show so much in my entire life. After that, all of us takes more expectaion for 2010, we wish we can see more striking things in Chanel’s 2010 runway show.
Wow,Chanel’s Cruise 2010 runway show just took place at Venice and now the ad campaign has surfaced. The photos were shot by Karl Lagerfeld featuring models Karen Elson and Baptiste Giabiconi in a dark antique hotel room with rich red curtains and bedsheets like his collection which was inspired by the Renaissance. The mood and the atmosphere seems right for the collection.
“Venice has a genuine dark and mysterious side to it that fascinated me. I really like the Italian spirit and the Venetian lifestyle,” said Lagerfeld. “And let’s not forget that Coco Chanel came back to Venice for 10 years.” Lagerfeld broadens Mademoiselle’s vision, revisiting the diverse influences that have marked La Serenissima. Lagerfeld’s collection recalls Visconti’s stylised films and Venice’s sparkling society of the 1930s. Fabrics were inspired by the rich Venetian reds of the Renaissance, Fortuny’s prints, and the chiaroscuro technique of the great Italian masters.
In this collection, Karl Lagerfeld takes us on a journey against the background of the sunset over the Adriatic Sea. I’m absolutely in love with this collection, and I think this time it is striking enough.
