Louis Vuitton Alligator Officers Jacket

The Louis Vuitton Alligator Officers Jacket comes from the Autumn / Winter 2009/10 mens collection showed in Paris, it is designed by the famous designer Paul Helbers with the meaning of “the traveling wardrobe of an African king.” Despite the high recession, this year the European fashuon houses didn’t stop outdoing with each other with one incredibly decadent item of men’s clothing. We’ve seen Salvatore Ferragamo’s $250,000 crocodile trench coat and Hermès’ $150,000 crocodile pea coat; now here is the alligator officer’s jacket.
Recession or no, Helbers didn’t stint on suitably luxurious offerings, including pieces in antelope leather and even a mink coat shaved into Vuittons signature Damier check. Our favorite item by far however was this ultra-luxe officer’s tunic-style jacket finished in top-grade tan alligator skin with antiqued gold buttons and epaulettes. The jacket has not been priced yet is expected to sell for somewhere in the $50,000 - $75,000 range, and will probably only be available by special order. Acutally, I don’t like it, maybe it is excellent as an art work, but not ecomonic!
