Posted on May 19th, 2009 Fashionlife No comments

Valentino Fashion Group, which owns a 50% share in the firm. It remains to be one of the world’s top fashion lines, with Germany being its leading consumer and the United States as the second. It holds more than 350 franchise shops in over 90 countries around the world.

Born on 11th May, 1932, in Italy, Valentino, actual name Valentino Clemente Ludovico Garavani is a popular fashion designer who primarily started the Valentino SpA brand and company. Valentino gained immense popularity by designing and manufacturing an exclusive range of custom made clothes, the Haute Couture and pret-a-porter fashion sequence.

Who can forget the incredible vintage Valentino that Julia Roberts wore in 2001 to accept her Oscar? It was Valentino again on Cate Blanchett in pale yellow and burgundy when she accepted her Oscar in 2005. Or anytime Renee Zelleweger showed up in Carolina Herrera - it was perfection each time. These women know the power they hold over fashion during the awards season, and the designers cater to them, know that millions of women become spellbound. It doesn’t matter if the piece comes from the latest collection or is vintage, the fashion has the authority to influence and create sales for designers everywhere. Each award show televised creates a fashion buzz for women everywhere.

Valentino, with his innovative creations and talented designs created an evening wear range which soon reached the target audience and gained enormous success in the International fashion market. His sophisticated collection included dresses with stylish looks and bright colors which was a unique range. Valentino’s designs were comparatively traditional and reflected boldness in his creations, as compared to other famous brands. He keenly focused to set a new trend to combine beauty with elegance but however hard he tried, his designs still lacked the contemporary look. His designs were mostly meant for the women belonging to the luxurious society and not for any ordinary class, only a woman from the wealthiest class could afford to wear the Valentino range for women.

In September 08 IMG presented you with, “Fashion Wins” as the theme for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York Spring 09 international designer showcase of collections. Designed by Kit Willow, WILLOW launched at Mercedes-Benz Australian Fashion Week in 03. A regular on the New York fashion week scene since 05, the designer departed from showing in the tents, as she did in February, for a more intimate setting, and showcased at the Altman Building on 18th Street in Chelsea.

After the war in Germany, there was a falling economy. There was little or no fuel for cars. Luxury tax of 15% made the production of automobile very disastrous. Because of this, Benz and Cie sought for a strong partner. They considered DMG but the merge was not successful. The economy went worse and there were only a few cars being registered in the year 1923. In the US, over ½ were Fords, Benz and Cie while DMG only built about 1000. Because of great economic necessity, Benz and DMG decided to sign an “Agreement of Mutual Interest” but they still managed to retain their individual identities. This agreement was valid until the year 2000.

The first “official AMG” car to reach the shores of America was the 1995 C36 AMG, although enthusiasts had privately imported gray market AMGs such as “The Hammer” much earlier. In 1999 DaimlerChrysler became the majority stakeholder in Mercedes-AMG GmbH. The market demand for AMG cars was high and production climbed from 500 to 20,000 cars per year by 2005 when DaimlerChrysler became the sole shareholder in Mercedes-AMG. Although many things changed during this time, the new owner’s continued the tradition of building AMG engines using the “one man, one engine” philosophy that continues to this day.

  • The history of Mercedes

Mercedes-Benz has been very popular since a lot of people say that this manufacturer makes cars for quality and durability.

Back in the mid-1960s, there were two guys with a small garage in an old mill that were building engines for fast cars, really fast cars. When these two guys acted on their urge they spawned one of today’s largest suppliers of exclusive high-performance cars. The two guys were Hans-Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher, the founders of AMG Motorenbau und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH (AMG Engine Production and Development, Ltd.). Thankfully, the company name was later shortened to AMG.

More than a century ago, a man named Gottlieb Daimler was born. After a decade, Carl Benz followed. Both were born in Germany but they were 60 miles apart. At a very age, both boys were exposed to machines. Their approaches to building cars were quite different that is why it is doubtful that they met few years back when they started having the Mercedes Benz

According to historical information provided by Mercedes-AMG, the first private customer of the new company was a Mercedes owner from Kiel. With a humble beginning there is always a good story. Here’s the gist of the story going around today, which is said to be Friedrick Aufrecht’s story. Friedrick is the brother of AMG co-founder, Hans-Werner.

Versace was a great fashion pioneer who combined the worlds of high style and pop culture. He was a charismatic and accomplished designer of clothing and theater costumes.

If you’ve been to South Beach in Miami, you’ve probably walked past the famous Versace mansion on Ocean Drive. If you’re not sure whether or not you’ve seen it, just look for a really big mansion with an observatory on its roof, nestled between the cafes, restaurants and hotels of Ocean Drive. You’ll know you’re getting close when you see the crowd outside its famous doorsteps snapping pictures

Versace appreciated a range of historic attire which he incorporated into his designs and he was greatly influenced by Andy Warhol and modern abstract art.

Fashion became entertainment, to be watched and admired - not simply worn. For Versace nothing was too extravagant too crazy or too risque. Yet no matter how extravagant or provocative Versace’s clothes were always strikingly well designed garments designed to flatter the body.

Versace was the designer of choice for many of the rich and famous: pop stars such as Elton John, and Madonna; film stars such as Will Smith, and Elizabeth Hurley and even royalty - Princess Diana.

Versace was born in 1946 in Reggio, Calabria, in Southern Italy. Versace received his love of fashion and first lessons on dress-making from his mother.

The Versace group was founded in Milan, 1978, by Gianni Versace who was an Italian designer famous for provocative designs. In 1997, it was announced that his brother Santo Versace and Jorge Saud would be the new CEOs of the Versace company after Gianni’s death, and his sister Donatella Versace joined as the creative director. Standout designers are employed and working in teams. Each team is devoted to one specific line and all teams are under the close supervision of Donatella. Versace products are popular among the A-list celebrities, which is the best testimonial statements of the iconic fashion status of Versace.

Initially Versace trained as an architect, but soon he followed his mother into the fashion business. Versace worked for a number of top Italian fashion houses, but in 1978 with the help of his brother Santo he launched his own label.

  • eating fried food as a fashion

Posted on May 5th, 2009 Fashionlife No comments

The title is only an attraction, what I want to tell you is also the history of the fast food company.

The truth is that Kentucky Fried Chicken decides to change its name is to avoid paying license fees to the state of Kentucky. The governor of Kentucky, Ruby Laffoon, in 1936 made Harland Sanders an Honorary Kentucky Colonel; this is how he became known as Colonel Sanders. The Original chicken recipe was born or created in the 1940’s. In 1952, the first KFC franchise was awarded with a handshake and a verbal agreement of a nickel to pay to Sanders for each chicken that was sold.

In 1964, there was over 600 KFC Franchises in the US and Canada even some in England. Colonel Sanders also sold his interest in the Us Company for 2 million to a group of investors. In 1990, the state of Kentucky decides to trademark their name, in order to reduce their accumulating debts. As a result, Kentucky Fried Chicken have to pay a sum of money to the state for using “Kentucky”.

Obviously, they are unwilling to since they had been using it for nearly four decades(they started in the 1950s) and refused to pay such royalties as a matter of principle. After much negotiations, they were unable to budge the government stance and thus decided to change their name instead of paying. This coincides with the rebranding campaign as stated earlier and everything turned out well.

  • The KFC story

Posted on May 5th, 2009 Fashionlife No comments

There is a great history with KFC, and if you are looking for a KFC application you can go online and fill one out. The story about why Kentucky Fried Chicken, founded by Harland Sanders, changes it name to KFC is to remove the word “fried” in it’s name.

The word “fried” has negative connatations like being unhealthy, having high cholesterol, causing obesity and many more. Therefore, as an effort to rebrand themselves as a healthier family restaurant that caters for people of all ages, including health conscious people, Kentucky Fried Chicken renamed itself as KFC.

If you are looking for an opportunity with KFC there is a position for you. If you are looking for a job that you will earn minimum wage and have night and weekend hours, KFC would be a place to start. The US food and drug administration reviewed the operations of Kentucky Fried Chicken and found out the they are rearing genetically modified chickens, with extra huge breasts and extra legs to harvest the meat from(the number varies from 4 to 6).

The US food and drug administration declares that these creatures cannot be marketed as “chickens” and Kentucky Fried Chicken, unwilling to lose such a lucrative operation to adhere to the rules, decided to change its name to KFC instead to eliminate the word “chicken”.

  • The Dolce & Gabbana

Posted on May 4th, 2009 Fashionlife No comments

It was the day of their great achievement when the pair was invited by the organizers of the most famous fashion show, the Milano Collezioni, to take part in the world’s most anticipated fashion show to start ‘New Talents’. There are many reasons as to why Dolce and Gabbana handbags have pretty much taken over the designer handbag industry. Sure, they have some competition, but when it comes down to it there are not many options that are better than a Dolce and Gabbana handbag.

Now that both were famous and confident enough, they separately planned an entire range of woman’s prêt-a-porter D&G fashion event. Subsequently, they inaugurated a huge variety of men’s designer wear range including the fashion brand signature group and began their elite stores in various countries such as Italy, Japan, Hong Kong and London.

D&G Juniors has greatly satisfied the children below 13 years of age and is regarded as a unique fashion brand. With casual designs, D&G Juniors has offered a huge collection of designer wear for kids too. For this reason, thousands of people buy Dolce and Gabbana handbags year in and year out. In fact, many people even collect them. So, if you are in the market for a new handbag they are a market leader well worth checking out.

Similar to D&G clothing for youths, the kids’ collection includes a wide variety to choose from, for both boys and girls. It is regarded as the most popular and well accepted brand among several other brands in the kids wear too. D&G Juniors is available at several multi brand stores, outlets and fashion boutiques across the international market.
