  • the lace dress for fashion

Posted on May 25th, 2009 Fashionlife No comments

Lace is really in fashion at present. The French Leavers Laces are the most trendy and well-accepted laces. This lace variety is imported from France and adds glamour to lace coats, boleros and corseted bodices and adds flair to the fishtail trains, and these laces add glamour and sophisticated look to the wedding gown.

Lace is such a romantic and soft fabric that works well with materials such as cotton, rayon, wool and silk. Lace is also appropriate for the workplace when matched with complimentary styles and looks. Lace is no longer restricted to the black and white colors. Women are buying lace tops and blouses in deep rich colors such as purple, blue, brown and navy.

The Lace wedding dresses are either loved for their feel and romanticism or hated, for their ability to be transported into doily esque frocks. Some brides don’t like the ‘all too laced’ look. Some dresses have a deep V-neck and the laced wedding dress designs fall in a mermaid line and give the bride an hourglass shape.

There are many classic styled wedding dresses and western styled wedding gowns, which are available in affordable prices. For example a beautiful laced wedding gown is an ideal dress for summer or spring. A well-designed and fitted lace bodice can be finely cut to compliment the figure, like a fairy tale dress.

Women can pair these lace tops with fitted suit jackets for a formal appeal. Or they can pair the lace tops with cardigans and v-neck sweaters for a soft layering affect. Lace can also easily move from the office to the lounge for an after work cocktail or networking event. This stylish material is not just limited to clothes, designers are incorporating lace in purses and handbags. Lace is also a wonderful material for shoes and other accessories.

  • Enzo Ferrari

Posted on May 24th, 2009 Fashionlife No comments

When Enzo Ferrari created his company Scuderia Ferrari in Italy in 1929 his intentions was to sponsor amateur race car drivers and invent racing cars, and it would take more than 15 years before Ferrari began to create their own road cars in 1946. Ferrari is still devoted to the creation of racing cars and high performance sports cars and do not create other types of cars. Scuderia Ferrari is still the widespread name for Gestione Sportiva, the part of the Ferrari company that works with racing. Scuderia is an Italian word and means “stable”, but Scuderia Ferrari is sometime also translated as Team Ferrari.

To the present date, what young male adult hasn’t dreamed of one day owning a Ferrari? What would be even greater would be to race one of the modified ones in the Grand Prix.

Enzo Ferrari had the distinction of having two birthdays, something special for a youngster growing to brag about to all his friends. His real birthday was February 18, 1898. Because of bad weather, however, his father was unable to register his birth until two days later. Therefore his official birthday is February 20, 1898.

In 1969 Ferrari merged with Fiat as an equal partner and in 1988 Fiat became a majority partner.

However, throughout his life, Enzo was a colorful and often stubborn man. Supposedly Lamborghini, who at that time was in the tractor building industry, was a Ferrari customer. Lamborghini once complained about some problems with his Ferrari and Enzo told him to stay with tractors. It is interesting that a quote, which is attributed to Enzo, is “The client is not always right.” One wonders if that statement may have resulted from the confrontation with Lamborghini.

And Ferrari said of his own creation, “The Ferrari is a dream. People dream of owning this special vehicle and for most people it will remain a dream apart from for those lucky few.”

  • The History of Ferrari

Posted on May 24th, 2009 Fashionlife No comments

Enzo Ferrari may no longer be with us but his legacy lives on in the Ferrari Automobile, the Ferrari reputation and even on the Internet. Thousands of times the Ferrari name is searched on the Internet daily in phases like Damaged Ferraris for Sale, Ferrari Italy Ferrari Track Days, Ferrari F50, 1979 Ferrari 308GTS, and most recently the Ferrari FXX are some examples. There are some searches that are used in larger numbers than one might think, such as Ferrari Wallpaper, Rent Ferrari Italy, Ferrari for Hire Italy, Ferrari Car Kit, to The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari . Yes the name Ferrari lives on in the hearts and minds of anyone male or female who has had the good fortune to see a Ferrari Automobile as it pasted by them on the road and thought WOW WHAT A CAR.

During the early years, Scuderia Ferrari sponsored race car drivers that were driving Alfa Romeo cars. Scuderia Ferrari would prepare Alfa Romeo cars before the race, and in 1938 Enzo Ferrari became officially employed by Alfa Romeo’s racing department. Two years later Enzo Ferrari found out that Alfa Romeo was planning to absorb Scuderia Ferrari, a plan which Enzo Ferrari strongly opposed. He instantly left his job at Alfa Romeo, but his contract restricted him from being involved with racing for several years. He changed Scuderia Ferrari into “Auto Avio Costruzioni Ferrari” and officially manufactured aircraft accessories for a few years. Enzo Ferrari did however create a race car during this restricted period. The Tipo 815 debuted at the Mille Miglia race in 1940, but the race was hampered due to World War II and Tipo 815 encountered no real competition. In 1943 Enzo Ferrari moved his factory to Maranello in Italy and one year later the factory was bombed. After the end of World War II, Enzo Ferrari rebuilt his factory and now the Ferrari factory was capable of construction road cars as well.

Until the 1980s when Ferrari began to use fuel injection in the road cars, the Ferraris were known as rather temperamental cars. They could be very unreliable, but would still attract a large group of dedicated fans that viewed this unpredictability as “character” rather than a problem. Today, FIAT controls 56 percent of the Ferrari stocks. The rest of stocks owned by Enzo’s con Piero Ferrari and by Commerzbank, Mediobanca and the Lehman Brothers. Maranello is still the home town for Ferrari.

The Romans have been said to have used water filled glasses to read with and while watching those who were less fortunate to be in an arena they used some stones of various colors to shield their eyes. Romans were known for wanting the best out of life so its no surprise that they used stones like quartz to enhance vision or reduce glare.

Eyeglass designer and maker of scientific devices James Ayscough developed a set of eyeglasses that used clear or green lenses in 1752. Ayscough thought that the green lenses helped vision some and relieved some eye fatigue. He was an apprentice to James Mann. The two became partners in developing microscopes and the publishing of articles.

These sunglasses offer sensational styling along with 100% protection from ultra violet radiations at 400 nm and eliminate danger of ultra violet rays from the sun. The high quality polarized lenses have special filters embedded with tiny crystals that eliminate reflected glare to save you from eye strain and provides enhanced color, optimized depth perception and overall visual acuity.

The polarization of sunglasses was accomplished by Edwin H. Land. Land invented polarized material that he used on sunglasses. George Wheelright and Land became partners and started in 1937 the Polaroid Corporation. Lands polarized sheeting material was use in sunglasses, 3-D movies and for military use. Later the polaroid camera came along another of Lands products.

The BMW or (Bavarian Motor Works) car first made it’s debut in the year 1916, when the first vehicle as rolled off the assembly line. Of course it would be many decades until this line of luxury and high performance vehicles would take it’s rightful place as possibly the most highly recognized name in high end cars on the road today.

BMW is a luxury automobile made in Germany. The company was first founded in 1916 and also makes motorbikes and supplies automobile components to the MINI and Rolls Royce. The car recognized by its circular blue and white BMW logo started out in the Bavarian province of Germany. Unlike many other European car manufacturers, BMW has mostly seen success. Over the past 80 years, since the first BMW, the cars have undergone many design changes. With a slight dip in success in 1959, the car company has otherwise blossomed world wide.

BMW introduced the public to their 3rd series or what is also known as their executive class line of vehicles in 1975. They are currently in their third generation and are synonymous with luxury and performance, as well as their easily recognizable distinct smooth lines. The current 5th generation of BMW third series includes but of course is not limited to the E92, the E91 Family Wagon and the E90 luxury performance sedan.

  • choose fitting wedding shoes

Your fairy tale wedding day is here! Make sure you’re wearing comfortable bridal shoes or guaranteed your feet won’t be smiling, no matter how much grinning your face is doing.

The balls of the feet tend to suffer the worst, especially in high heels. Gel pads will provide extra cushioning for the balls of your feet.

Think about your wedding colors and consider one of those options.  Many brides are now having their wedding shoes match the bridesmaid dresses.  This provides great contrast in wedding pictures since the shoes stand out a little bit and allow the bride to match their bridesmaids in a subtle, but fun way.  When choosing which color, also look at the colors of the flower.  A fun way to have a bright colored shoe is to match them to bouquet or bridesmaid bouquet flowers.

Wearing flat wedding shoes is also a good choice. Whatever your reason, there is going to be a pair of flat shoes that is perfect for your wedding. In most cases brides prefer to go with a bridal shoe in a fabric that matches the white or ivory of her gown; there is not rule, though, that you can’t be more playful with your wedding shoes. This is especially true if you are wearing a very full skirted gown, since your guests will really only be getting a glimpse of the shoes anyway. Go ahead and choose a flat in an elegant silver or gold silk, or really be bold and wear a bright red silk shoe

To avoid those new shoes blisters that can ruin your day add extra cushions or padding inside your shoes at the back of your heel or where thin straps might cross over your feet. Extra padding will ensure that the comfortable bridal shoes you bought for your wedding day stay comfortable for the whole day.

Take luxury to a new level with carefully chosen wedding shoes that reflect your personality and style on your big day. For many women, designer wedding footwear was once an unattainable prospect after the event expenses were tallied. Between flowers, food and music alone, plenty of brides felt unable to indulge their sense of fashion in footwear. Times have changed and many retailers offer designer shoe fashions at an affordable price.

Foot Petals, Killer Kushionz, Aero Insoles and Dr. Scholls’ are just a few of the brands of shoe cushions that will keep your feet comfortable and prevent slips and rubbing that can cause some pretty painful blisters. You don’t want to have to deal with that on the biggest day of your life.

With bold face names like Stuart Weitzman and Kate Spade, brides are flocking to these luxurious pieces of wearable art to make an unforgettable splash as they glide down the aisle. With three heel heights to choose from and numerous style in stock, wedding footwear can be easy to shop for.

It may also be a good idea to make sure you really do have comfortable bridal shoes by wearing them around for a few hours then checking for any sore areas on your heels or where thin straps may be rubbing on the sides of your feet. It’s better to be prepared ahead of time than to have sore and miserable feet when you should be up dancing.

With so much time spent dancing, mingling and celebrating, a bride’s feet certainly get a strenuous workout through the course of the evening. Why shouldn’t your footwear get equal amounts of attention after all that effort? Looking back on framed photographs of the occasion, you’ll see that devoting some time and effort to purchasing quality wedding shoes is a wise investment in your future.
